Full job description
About the Role
A well-established public accounting firm is seeking a detail-oriented and highly accurate Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join its remote team. This role centers on the preparation and review of a high volume of compilation reports for a diverse client portfolio. The work is structured and repetitive by nature, and success depends entirely on the ability to maintain consistent accuracy at scale. This is a production-focused position best suited to a CPA who is methodical, disciplined, and takes genuine satisfaction in delivering clean, precise work output day after day.
Work Schedule
This role follows a set daily schedule aligned to Mountain Standard Time (MST). Work begins at 2:00 PM MST each day. Candidates must be available and fully active at that start time without exception.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare a high volume of compilation reports in accordance with applicable standards and firm-established procedures, with output expectations reaching up to 500 reports
• Review financial statements submitted by clients and format them accurately for compilation purposes
• Apply consistent standards across all engagements, ensuring uniformity in presentation, formatting, and disclosures
• Identify and flag discrepancies, missing information, or anomalies in source documents before finalizing any report
• Maintain organized digital records of all completed compilations and client correspondence
• Communicate with internal team members to resolve open items or clarify client data as needed
• Meet daily and weekly throughput targets without sacrificing accuracy or quality
• Follow firm SOPs and reporting templates precisely and consistently

• Comfortable working within a structured, process-driven environment with standardized workflows
• Proficiency with accounting software and document management tools

Preferred
• Prior experience in a public accounting firm environment

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who does not find repetition exhausting but instead finds it clarifying. This role demands a CPA who can execute the same process with the same standard of care on report number 400 as on report number one. You are thorough, you check your work, and you understand that in a compilation-heavy practice, consistency is a form of excellence.
You are comfortable working independently within a defined process. You do not need someone to tell you how to be a CPA, but you do follow the firm's established templates and procedures exactly. You raise questions when something does not look right, and you document your work clearly so nothing falls through the cracks.
