Job Summary

We are looking for a Freight Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator for a US-based client. This role focuses on the carrier side of freight operations, with a strong emphasis on finding, evaluating, and booking loads.

The ideal candidate understands the carrier’s needs, stays ahead of driver schedules, and can proactively source quality freight through load boards and broker relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and hunt for available freight using DAT, Truckstop, and other load boards
• Proactively sourcing and booking freight through load boards and broker relationships.
• Managing documentation related to freight, including rate confirmations and dispatch-related documents.
  
• Review and evaluate loads based on rate, route, timing, and practicality
• Book freight directly with brokers and shippers
• Handle carrier packets, rate confirmations, and dispatch-related documents
• Coordinate loads and schedules with drivers
• Communicate and negotiate with brokers
• Monitor booked loads from pickup through delivery
• Organize and track loads using Trello and internal spreadsheets
• Identify and avoid undesirable loads, including freight that may be difficult or time-consuming to offload

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in freight dispatching and logistics coordination
• Proven carrier-side experience in freight booking and dispatching
• Must have experience using DAT, Truckstop, or similar load boards
• Must have hands-on experience hunting, sourcing, and booking freight
• Experience working with brokers, including carrier packets and rate confirmations
• Able to evaluate whether a load is profitable and practical for the carrier
• Strong understanding of driver schedules and carrier operations
• Strong English communication skill
  

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience working directly on the carrier side, rather than only on the brokerage side, are preferred.

Candidates should be proactive freight hunters who can independently find and secure loads, manage the booking process, and make decisions with a carrier-focused mindset.
