Join us in our mission to build engaging player communities and offer outstanding experiences! ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Role overview

Weโ€™re looking for a Game Capture Artist who can start immediately and join our award-winning team. You'll stage, shoot and scrutinise in-engine shots across specialised development builds to create the best content possible for our clients.

Our client list and fast growth come from a culture of no-waffle and a strong creative focus. The successful applicant will need to live those values and hit the ground running without heavy hand holding.

What are we looking for? Our Project Manager has a knack for the following skills:

  • A passionate gamer with a broad appreciation of mobile, PC and console titles
  • A willingness to learn each game and its project setup inside out, and to stay hands-on with it every day
  • Someone who can adapt to game development builds and Unity projects that are always changing, including version updates, new scenes and shifting assets
  • An understanding of game trends and how games are marketed across the gaming landscape
  • Creative problem solving: finding ways around bugs, broken scenes and build issues to get the shot
  • A keen eye for composition, camera movement, lighting and framing
  • An eagerness to develop in-engine cinematography techniques and creative storytelling skills
  • A collaborator who can work efficiently with creative, editorial and client-side development teams
  • Strong proficiency in Unity (essential), including Cinemachine, Timeline, the Unity Recorder and working across URP/HDRP render pipelines
  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine, including Sequencer, Movie Render Queue and cine cameras (highly desirable)
  • Previous experience in a game capture, in-engine cinematics or trailer production role (essential)
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro
  • PC proficient, with experience capturing from both PC and mobile builds (Android/iOS)

Your duties:

  • Create high-quality in-engine capture using game development builds and Unity projects. This means setting up cameras, staging scenes and characters, and rendering high-resolution, high-frame-rate footage through the Unity Recorder and, where needed, Unreal's Movie Render Queue
  • Meet capture deadlines, which can sometimes be very tight, and manage your own time efficiently
  • Keep a sharp eye on quality, pushing lighting, post-processing, resolution and detail levels to get the best possible image from each build
  • Select and stage shots that meet the brief, telling a story through capture and showing off each game and its features in the best possible light
  • Fully understand the latest build and project version of each game, and be the main point of contact for all game and engine updates
  • Edit captured footage in After Effects and Premiere Pro, using editing techniques to make it as exciting as possible
  • Build and maintain reusable capture setups, such as camera rigs, Timeline sequences and lighting presets, to speed up future work
  • Gather high-quality assets (characters, environments, UI, renders) and export them from the engine when needed

Requirements

You'd be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • Previous experience in a Game Capture Artist role.
  • A passionate gamer, especially one who enjoys mobile games.
  • Willing to learn the games inside out and play them frequently.
  • Able to adapt to ever-changing game development builds.
  • Understanding of game trends across the gaming landscape.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to find ways around bugs and issues in builds.
  • A keen eye for composition.
  • Eager to develop game capture techniques and creative storytelling skills.
  • Collaborative and able to work efficiently with multiple departments.
  • Competence with OBS Studio (not essential).
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects CC.
  • Proficient with both Mac and PC, with a focus on PC.
  • Able to use iOS devices.

If you don't meet all the qualifications but believe you have the skills and experience to excel in this role, we encourage you to apply.
