Full job description
Built to set the gold standard for integrated AI infrastructure
Crux AI is a newly formed, U.S.-based integrated AI infrastructure company created to remove the physical and operational constraints on consequential AI ambitions. Crux brings together power, high-density data centers, TPU silicon, networking, orchestration software, and ongoing operations as one integrated system.
Crux is being capitalized to plan every layer together, develop each one to demanding standards, and operate the whole system with efficiency and reliability. That gives hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, sovereign customers, enterprises, and AI-native companies greater freedom to pursue the AI they are here to create.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will lead the enterprise-wide financial planning and analysis organization, supporting significant business modeling and decision analysis that will drive what we do, along with an AI-forward budgeting and forecasting process. Capital allocation and resource planning is a key element of success in this extraordinarily capital intensive business.
In this role, you will:
Reporting to the CFO, serve as a key member of the finance team and a trusted advisor to the executive team, driving financial strategy and resource allocation.
Partner across the business to drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
SIGNALS OF SUCCESS
After 60 days in this role:
Assessed and integrateed into our current short and medium term business modeling process, and established a desired architecture and prioritize key projects to drive that modeling going forward.
Established key partnerships with business unit leaders, the executive team, and the broader Finance Leadership Team.
Evaluated the current financial planning tech stack and reporting infrastructure to identify opportunities for standardization and simplification.
Adapted to a fast-paced environment and taken ownership of the upcoming forecasting and reporting cycles, as well as in flight modeling of key decisioning processes.
After 6 months:
Lead the execution of the enterprise-wide planning cycle, including a 12 to 24 month rolling forecast.
Partner with other finance leaders to develop and implement streamlined management and board reporting dashboards, synthesizing key trends and operating performance.
Partner with business unit leaders to build bottom-up operational and capital plans.
Provide the analytical foundation for the prioritization and allocation of capital in support of company priorities.
Architect the FP&A tech stack, using an AI-forward model and leveraging planning platforms and business intelligence tools to improve forecasting accuracy.
After 1 year:
Recruit, mentor, and lead a diverse, high-performing FP&A team, driving the organization to informed decision-making.
Drive the long-range strategic planning process.
Deliver clear, actionable insights leveraging advanced analytics that consistently drive better resource allocation and long-term value creation.
EXPERIENCES, ATTRIBUTES AND MINDSET THAT INDICATE A GOOD MATCH
Experiences
15+ years of progressive finance experience, with a minimum of 7 years in FP&A leadership roles managing high-performing teams.
Experience within capital-intensive and/or fast-growing technology companies.
Attributes
Exceptional analytical, project management, and financial modeling abilities. Experience supporting Board of Directors and investor communications.
You know how to ask the right questions and can easily shift between the details and more high level modeling. You operate as a trusted advisor to the business, not as a budget process organizer.
Mindset
You have a high tolerance for ambiguity. You absorb ambiguity and navigate complexity rather than passing it along.
