Sr. Growth Marketing Manager, AI Discovery
📜 Description
- Lead the SEO program, including keyword strategy, content, programmatic pages, and technical optimization, to convert high-intent traffic into signups, demos, and pipeline.
- Improve Chainguard’s visibility and recommendations across LLMs and AI search using content, structured data, and third-party sources; track citations and recommendations.
- Make Chainguard easier for coding agents to discover and use by mapping adoption journeys and reducing friction at each step.
- Partner with Product to build and maintain MCP servers, agent skills, plugins, documentation snippets, and agent-readable quickstarts.
- Evaluate real developer prompts across models and coding agents, and build attribution connecting organic, AI-referred, and agent-originated signups to pipeline.
- Drive cross-functional work with Product, Product Marketing, Growth, Web, and Paid Media.
🛠️ Requirements
- 4+ years in growth, developer marketing, or technical product, with measurable funnel ownership for technical audiences.
- Hands-on SEO and AEO experience, including technical SEO, keyword strategy, content, and measurement.
- Terminal fluency and advanced SQL: you can build a working MCP server or agent skill, and you answer your own questions from the data.
- A daily coding-agent habit, with opinions on how agents choose tools and where they fail.
- A track record of driving work through cross-functional partners without direct authority, in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience in cybersecurity or the cloud-native ecosystem (containers, Kubernetes, software supply chain security).
✨ Benefits
- Remote-first culture with team meetups and bi-annual destination summits.
- Monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone, and internet costs.
- Stock options upon hire and promotion, participation in secondary offerings, and 10 years to exercise options.
- 100% covered health insurance premiums for employees and dependents.
- Flexible time off.
- 18 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents.
Full job description
Chainguard is the trusted source for open source. By delivering hardened, secure, and production-ready builds of all the open source software engineers and AI agents rely on, Chainguard helps organizations build faster, stay compliant, and eliminate risk.
Our customers include Fortune 500 enterprises and global industry leaders, including Anduril, Canva, Fortinet, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, OpenAI, Snap Inc., and Snowflake.
Chainguard is venture-backed by leading investors, including Amplify, IVP, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Mantis VC, Redpoint Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Spark Capital.
The role, in a nutshell:
Developers find tools by searching, by asking an LLM, and, more and more, by prompting a coding agent to do the work. We’re hiring a technical Sr. Growth Marketing Manager to make sure that across all three, Chainguard gets discovered, recommended, and used.
This is a builder role measured on signups and pipeline, not rankings or mentions. It’s also highly cross-functional. You’ll work daily with Product, Product Marketing, Growth, Web, and Paid Media, and you’ll drive the work forward, not wait on it.
What you’ll do:
-
Own search. Run Chainguard’s SEO program end to end: keyword strategy, content, programmatic pages, and technical optimization. Partner with Web and PMM to turn high-intent traffic into signups, demos, and pipeline.
-
Agent as researcher. Get ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews to surface and recommend Chainguard. Your levers are content, structured data, and the third-party sources models learn from. Track how often we’re cited and recommended, and grow it.
-
Agent as user. Make Chainguard the default choice when Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex picks tools for a developer. Map the agent adoption journey (discover, auth, pull, build, verify) and remove friction at every step. Partner with Product to build and maintain our MCP server, Agent Skills, plugins, CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md snippets, llms.txt, and agent-readable quickstarts, and keep them listed where agents look.
-
Measure what works. Run evals of real developer prompts across models and coding agents to learn which assets actually get Chainguard recommended and used. Build attribution that ties organic, AI-referred, and agent-originated signups to pipeline.
What you’ll bring:
-
4+ years in growth, developer marketing, or technical product, with measurable funnel ownership for technical audiences.
-
Hands-on SEO and AEO experience, including technical SEO, keyword strategy, content, and measurement.
-
Terminal fluency and advanced SQL: you can build a working MCP server or agent skill, and you answer your own questions from the data.
-
A daily coding-agent habit, with opinions on how agents choose tools and where they fail.
-
A track record of driving work through cross-functional partners without direct authority, in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Nice to have:
-
Experience in cybersecurity or the cloud-native ecosystem (containers, Kubernetes, software supply chain security).
