Work together with an experienced development team to develop and support digital solutions for shopfloor environment

This team is maintaining a robust solution which was self-developed by the company to address the digitalization challenges on manufacturing level (on-prem) and recently started a journey to become a cloud development team and connect this solution to the global standardized cloud enterprise platform (AWS based). We are now looking for a SW Developer DevOps to aggregate cloud knowledge & expertise to the team as well as work as a focal point to disseminate AWS knowledge. The ideal candidate is not just an architect but someone who builds, tests, and deploys systems daily.

The hiring process for this position will be conducted through VW-TECH, the company is an initiative focused on technology and digital transformation within the Volkswagen ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Support upskilling and cloud adoption of the team and therefore play the crucial role of enabler and accelerator, we are looking for someone who’s not only technically strong but also acts as a mentor, advisor and cloud advocate within the team;
• Define, provision and document test environments as part of the delivery pipeline, ensuring reproducibilty and independence from specific team members;
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies (refinement, planning) to antecipate infrastrucutre requirements and ensure environment readiness before each development sprint;
• Treats infrastructure documentation as a first-class deliverable - environment specs, data plans, and runbooks are maintened continuously, not retroactively.
• Ability to communicate infrastructure decisions and environments status clearly to non-technical stakeholders and international teams;
• Support the platform shift from the current on-premise solution towards a new platform based on containerization (on-prem);
• Promote the connection of this platform to global standard cloud enterprise platform (AWS based);
• Act as a mentor to support developers to on-board the global cloud platform (AWS based) and start to develop solutions on it;
• Coordinate activities on AWS environment with global teams (best practices, requirements, demands);
• Be an AWS ambassador and support upskilling of local team on AWS platform;
• Assess and select appropriate AWS services for the solution architecture;
• Develop and deploy solutions on AWS environment;
• Drive requirement-engineering and stakeholder management;
• Work with global project teams aiming the modernization of legacy core systems and deliver future-proof solutions based on AWS.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field;
• Application of AWS services;
• Understanding of network architecture;
• Application of DevOps Tools;
• AWS Services: CloudFormation, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Secrets Manager, SQS, SNS;
• Programming Languages: Python, Java, Typescript, Bash, YAML/JSON;
• CDK, Terraform, Maven/Gradle, Atlassian Toolchain (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence), GitHub (Actions), Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Grafana, Prometheus;
• English fluent.
