Full job description
Account Executive — Energy & Regulated Markets
Build new business in critical-infrastructure software—with territory ownership, an established customer base, and $200,000–$260,000 OTE. An exceptional fit could earn a package above the advertised range.
U.S. remote | $100,000–$130,000 annual base | $200,000–$260,000 annual OTE
The Opportunity
Our client is a growing, private equity-backed software company helping electric utilities and other highly regulated organizations connect workforce training, qualifications, scheduling, and compliance. Your territory will focus on electric utilities. You’ll own full-cycle new-logo sales and revenue expansion through existing customers and partners, with real autonomy and direct access to sales leadership.
Typical deals carry $60K–$80K in annual contract value on three- to five-year terms. Expansion cycles are around three months; electric-utility new-logo cycles are generally six to twelve months. Bring the curiosity to learn a complex product and the tenacity to move considered buying decisions forward.
What You’ll Own
- Create pipeline through targeted outbound, existing relationships, partners, industry events, referrals, and inbound opportunities.
- Close new logos and expansion business, from discovery and demos through business case, procurement, security/legal review, negotiation, and signature.
- Navigate training, operations, compliance, technical, and executive stakeholders; connect the product to operational risk and business value.
- Find creative ways around stalled deals, own next steps, and keep a disciplined forecast in HubSpot.
What You Bring
- Initiative, urgency, persistence, and real enthusiasm for sales or the utility industry, demonstrated through your actions.

- Experience selling into energy/utilities or another highly regulated market. General LMS experience alone does not replace this requirement.
- Documented quota attainment and evidence of top-quartile performance, with the context behind your results.
- Success learning complex products and navigating multiple stakeholders and extended buying cycles.
Around five or more years of relevant selling is ideal; strong candidates with three or four years are welcome. Utility experience is especially valuable. LMS, compliance, workforce, or scheduling software experience transfers when you have sold into the right customer environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- $100,000–$130,000 annual base and $200,000–$260,000 OTE, with target earnings equal to twice the base. Flexibility above the advertised range for an exceptional fit.
- Uncapped commission. OTE includes base plus target commission at plan and is not guaranteed.
- Fully remote within the United States, with occasional travel for conferences and industry events.
- 100% employer-paid employee medical, dental, and vision premiums; 25% of spouse/dependent premiums covered.
- 401(k) match up to 4%, immediately vested, plus employer-paid life and short- and long-term disability coverage.
