Vice President, Total Rewards

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking Vice President, Total Rewards.

The Vice President, Total Rewards is a senior HR leader responsible for designing, building, and evolving the organization's total rewards strategy, compensation, benefits, HR systems, and people analytics, to support a growing, decentralized workforce of both hourly and salaried employees. This role also serves as the HR lead on mergers, acquisitions, and integration activities, partnering closely with the transformation office and executive team to ensure people-related risks, costs, and opportunities are fully assessed and integrated smoothly. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate strategically while also rolling up their sleeves to build programs, structures, and systems from the ground up or at scale.

Triumvirate Environmental provides leading organizations in the higher education, life sciences, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing sectors with diverse services and expertise to assist them with compliance management. At Triumvirate Environmental, we strive to WOW both our employees and our customers. Our unique culture fosters growth, development, education, and creativity.

This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation

  • Design and implement a company-wide compensation philosophy that reflects the organization's culture, business strategy, and competitive positioning.
  • Build and maintain salary structures, job architecture, and pay bands across hourly and salaried employee populations.
  • Design, launch, and manage incentive programs (short-term and long-term) that align pay with performance and business outcomes.
  • Ensure compensation practices comply with federal, state, and local pay equity and wage laws across all operating locations.
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling for compensation programs.

Benefits

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of current benefits offerings against external market benchmarks to assess competitiveness.
  • Recommend and implement changes to benefits programs (health & welfare, retirement, leave, wellness, etc.) to ensure alignment with business needs, workforce demographics, and cost management goals.
  • Manage relationships with benefits brokers, consultants, and vendors.
  • Ensure benefits programs comply with ERISA, ACA, and other applicable regulations.

M&A / Integration

  • Lead HR due diligence on prospective acquisitions, including deep-dive analysis of deal models to identify and quantify people-related costs (compensation, benefits, severance, retention, and integration costs).
  • Assess target companies' compensation structures, pay practices, and benefits programs to identify gaps, risks, and one-time or ongoing costs to remediate against Triumvirate's total rewards philosophy.
  • Develop and execute the compensation and benefits assimilation/transition plan to migrate acquired employees onto Triumvirate's comp structure, incentive programs, and benefits plans.

People Analytics & AI

  • Develop HR dashboards and KPIs to measure and manage HR performance, workforce trends, and organizational insights.
  • Leverage data and emerging AI/analytics tools to inform decision-making across compensation, benefits, retention, and workforce planning.
  • Deliver regular reporting and insights to executive leadership on HR effectiveness and workforce trends.

HR Systems

  • Evaluate ADP (and other potential platforms) as the organization's HRIS solution.
  • Lead the integration of HR processes and employee data into the HRIS to simplify administration and improve the employee/manager experience.
  • Partner with Finance and IT to ensure data integrity, system scalability, and process automation.

Policy Development

  • Develop, document, and maintain HR policies, including oversight of the employee handbook.
  • Ensure policies are consistently applied and remain compliant with evolving employment law.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to review and update policies as needed.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Business, HR or a related field required. MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant depth in total rewards.
  • 2+ years of experience in a head of Total Rewards (or equivalent senior leadership) role.
