- Take ownership of a project with guidance from a platform engineering mentor.
- Build reports and dashboards to track AI tool usage and costs.
- Explore ways to improve AI tool results while reducing token usage, and share tips and tooling.
- Improve the model gateway with features such as usage tracking and easier access to new models.
- Evaluate AI developer tools and document what works well.
- Support pilots of AI-assisted engineering practices by collecting feedback and usage data.
๐ ๏ธ Requirements
- Being enrolled in a Dutch university until at least September 2027, so the entire duration of the internship
- Being located in Amsterdam or cities close by to be able to commute to the office at least twice a week
- Available for at least 32h/week
- Good Python skills
- Some experience using AI coding assistants or LLM APIs, for example in coursework or a side project
- Basic knowledge of working with data (SQL, pandas or similar)
- Nice to have: experience with GitHub Actions, APIs or a cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
- Solid Computer Science fundamentals
- Comfortable with written and/or verbal communication in English
- Curious about AI and eager to learn

We look after the AI tools TomTom engineers use every day, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude and Cursor, and the platform that gives teams access to AI models. We help teams use these tools well, keep an eye on usage and cost, and try out new tools as they appear.
