  • Approximately 7-10 or more years of legal experience, including at least five years of in-house experience negotiating B2B SaaS and technology agreements.
  • Experience supporting a respected, high-growth, or data-centric SaaS organization with significant commercial deal volume.
  • Substantial experience negotiating sophisticated agreements on customer paper, rather than relying primarily on company-standard forms.
  • High degree of initiative, ownership, and responsiveness, with the ability to manage the sales contracting process independently and prioritize effectively during critical periods.
  • Strong business judgment and a pragmatic approach to balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Experience advising on the transactional aspects of data privacy, including data processing agreements and GDPR-related issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, low-ego approach and the ability to build credibility with customers, Sales professionals, and senior leadership.
  • Interest in using AI and other technology to improve legal workflows; experience with AI or data-driven products is a plus.

Our client, a rapidly growing AI marketing platform serving leading global enterprises, has exclusively retained Solutus Legal Search to assist in its search for a Senior Commercial Counsel. Reporting to the Head of Legal, this attorney will serve as a key legal partner to the company's sales organization, independently negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements and helping build a scalable commercial legal function.

Following a significant new funding round, the company is entering an exciting period of growth and product expansion. This is a high-impact opportunity to join a lean, collaborative legal team, work closely with company leadership, and help shape the processes, technology, and infrastructure needed to support the business as it scales.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing AI company at an important point in its development, work on business-critical transactions, and make a significant impact within a lean legal department. This position is based in New York City and requires working in the company's office three days per week. Compensation is expected to include a base salary of approximately $270,000, plus equity and a competitive benefits package, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
