Fraud Prevention Specialist

About us

Traditional banking has never really given you control over your financial life. Satispay exists to change that: to empower people through finance. That means making financial services easy and accessible for over 6.5M users. We started with payments, then benefits, investing, cards... and we’re not done. Not even close. We follow the same logic every time: find a real problem, solve it properly, then look for the next one. The destination? To build the most loved financial platform in the world. If you own outcomes rather than tasks, stay close to what users need, and refuse to wait for someone else to fix what's broken — you'll find people here who work exactly in the same way. And together, you'll build something worth being proud of.

What you'll be doing

As our Fraud Prevention Specialist, you'll protect Satispay’s users and assets by mastering fraud detection and prevention across Cards, SEPA Direct Debit (SDD), and other payment schemes, keeping financial and reputational losses to a minimum while preserving a seamless user experience. Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • Transaction Surveillance & Alert Review - Actively monitor multi-channel transaction flows (Cards and SEPA vectors), review real-time and ex-post alert queues, and swiftly resolve suspicious activities across customer portfolios.

  • Emerging Threat & Trend Identification - Analyse transactional behaviours, velocity patterns, and scheme returns (SDD R-transactions, card chargebacks) to proactively uncover new attack vectors and vulnerabilities.

  • Rule Engineering & Logic Refinement - Translate ground-level fraud insights into actionable requirements; collaborate with the Fraud Strategy team to design, test, and calibrate transaction monitoring rules to boost detection and minimise false positives.

  • Loss & Reputational Impact Prevention - Intercept fraudulent behaviours early in the lifecycle to safeguard Satispay from direct financial exposure, scheme non-compliance, and brand risk.

  • Negative Balance & Debt Recovery Management - Manage the operational lifecycle of negative balances resulting from fraud or return flows, executing structured collection processes and recovering value for the business.

  • UX & Friction Calibration - Partner with Product teams to ensure fraud controls and step-up authentication methods strike the right balance between risk mitigation and a smooth user journey.

  • Data Collection & Insights Sharing - Gather, structure, and synthesise fraud loss and transaction data to generate actionable insights and performance metrics for cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Incident Escalation & Forensic Triage - Conduct deep-dive triage on complex card/SDD fraud schemes and escalate critical vectors or systematic exploits for rapid remediation.

Who we're looking for

This role needs someone operationally sharp and data-minded who understands digital payment mechanics and brings high vigilance to protecting customer accounts and assets.

  • Experience - 2 to 4 years in fraud operations or transaction monitoring within fintech, digital banking, or payment processing ecosystems.

  • Payment Scheme Expertise - Solid understanding of payment mechanics, specifically Card processing flows, SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) return cycles, and velocity/pattern monitoring techniques.

  • Rule Design & Data Literacy - Proficiency in querying transactional datasets and spotting anomalies using analytics tools (such as Looker, HEX, or SQL) to shape logic for automated detection scenarios.

  • Recovery & Loss Management - Familiarity with negative balance recovery management, chargeback operational handling, or structured debt collection workflows.

  • UX & Risk Balance - Product-sensitive approach to applying fraud controls without introducing unnecessary user friction.

  • Analytical Communication - Ability to synthesise complex fraud insights and transactional patterns into clear, structured feedback for Strategy, Product, and Engineering teams.

  • Core Mindset - High resilience under alert volumes, strong attention to detail, sound ethical judgment, and a proactive attitude toward investigating emerging attack vectors.

  • 🌱 Flexibility: unlimited PTO, hybrid working policy*, flexible working hours.
