📜 Description

  • Own features from shaping ambiguous product problems through implementation, testing, and rollout.
  • Build product capabilities across Python domain logic, services, APIs, and TypeScript/React interfaces.
  • Translate forecasting, hedging, and scenario-analysis needs into useful product behavior.
  • Work with product management and the solution architect to evaluate tradeoffs and refine problems.
  • Improve architecture, testing, performance, and maintainability while delivering.

🛠️ Requirements

  • Strong software-engineering fundamentals and meaningful production experience with Python. Python does not need to be your deepest language, but you must be independently productive in it.

  • Evidence of owning a complex feature across backend and frontend boundaries.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous domain requirements into a maintainable implementation with clear concepts, invariants, edge cases, and tradeoffs.
  • Convincing data reasoning: you can understand transformations and dependencies, question assumptions, and validate correctness without needing to be a data engineer or analyst.
  • High ownership and autonomy, with good judgment about when to align with product, architecture, or other specialists.
  • A pragmatic quality mindset: you leave systems better while continuing to deliver.
  • Strong communication and a team-first attitude.
  • Experience with FastAPI, Next.js, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with forecasting, simulation, optimization, analytical product features, or other decision-support systems.

✨ Benefits

  • A competitive salary and a stock option plan, so you share in the growth you help create.

  • Bike lease option.
  • Our Leuven office is a 2-minute walk from the train station.
  • Hospitalisation insurance via Alan.
  • Hybrid work, split between our Leuven office and home.

About Predikt

‍

Predikt is a dynamic Swiss-Belgian deeptech company at the forefront of innovation, developing cutting-edge AI-driven technology. We are an AI-driven cost & margin intelligence platform built for enterprise procurement and finance teams, providing unmatched visibility into external cost drivers and their impact on margins. We empower organizations to navigate market volatility, proactively manage risks, protect profitability and make confident, data-driven decisions. As an early-stage startup, we are fueled by a strong sense of mission and enthusiasm, striving to make cost intelligence accessible to every procurement and finance leader across the globe.

‍

At Predikt, we are defined by our core values and high ambitions. We are a company that champions integrity, innovation and excellence, creating an environment where everyone supports each other and works collaboratively towards common goals. Our customer-centric approach ensures we deliver exceptional value and service, while fostering a culture of mutual respect, open communication, and continuous improvement.

‍

Join us on this exciting journey as we transform the way procurement and finance teams understand and act on cost and create a future where volatility is no longer a threat, but a challenge every organization is equipped to face with confidence.

About the Role

You'll join a small, fast-moving engineering team and own features end-to-end — from understanding an ambiguous product problem and shaping the solution to implementation, testing, and rollout. You'll work closely with product management and our solution architect, while operating with significant autonomy and challenging proposed solutions when the underlying problem calls for a different approach.

Our stack includes Python + FastAPI on the backend and Next.js + TypeScript + React on the frontend, supported by an analytics framework for product-facing forecasting and decision support. Infrastructure support is available; this role is focused on building product capabilities rather than owning the platform.

We're open to strong mid-level and senior engineers. We care more about your judgment, ownership, and ability to work across boundaries than a specific number of years.

What You'll Work On

  • Forecasting and decision support. Translate complex procurement requirements — such as forecasting, hedging, and scenario analysis — into clear domain behavior and useful product features.

  • End-to-end feature ownership. Design and ship capabilities spanning Python domain logic, services and APIs, and the TypeScript/React interfaces through which customers use them.

  • Product and solution shaping. Develop a deep understanding of the product and codebase, discuss tradeoffs with product management, and help redefine problems before committing to an implementation.

  • Pragmatic engineering improvement. Improve architecture, testing, performance, and maintainability as you ship, balancing long-term quality with delivery needs.

Requirements

  • Strong software-engineering fundamentals and meaningful production experience with Python. Python does not need to be your deepest language, but you must be independently productive in it.

  • Production experience with TypeScript and React — enough to independently build the frontend portion of a substantial feature. You do not need to be a frontend specialist.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with FastAPI, Next.js, or similar frameworks.

  • Experience with forecasting, simulation, optimization, analytical product features, or other decision-support systems.

  • Comfort with SQL or analytical Python tooling.

  • Experience in procurement, finance, supply chain, or another complex enterprise domain.

  • Interest in AI-enabled product experiences. Prior LLM or agent experience is not required, but there is room to explore it if it interests you.

What Makes This Role Different

  • This is a broad software-engineering role, not a frontend-specialist position.

  • Analytics means building reusable product capabilities from complex domain requirements — not ad hoc analysis or ownership of data infrastructure.

  • Infrastructure is supported by specialists; your primary responsibility is delivering product features.

  • Success requires contributing to the solution, not only implementing a detailed specification.

What we offer

💰 Pay & perks

  • A competitive salary and a stock option plan, so you share in the growth you help create.

  • Meal vouchers of €8 per working day.

  • Eco vouchers worth €250 per year.

  • A net allowance per month for working from home and using your own equipment.

🚆 Getting around

  • Mobility budget or company car via Lizy: you choose what fits your life.

  • Bike lease option.

  • Our Leuven office is a 2-minute walk from the train station.

🛡️ Health

  • Hospitalisation insurance via Alan.

🌍 Flexibility

  • Hybrid work, split between our Leuven office and home.

  • Bring your own device: work with the tools you know best.

  • A flexible reward plan is planned for 2027, so you can shape part of your package yourself.

🎉 Team & culture

  • A yearly offsite, sometimes in the Swiss Alps, sometimes closer to home.

  • Plenty of moments together throughout the year: drinks, our Christmas dinner and other team activities.

  • A culture of radical transparency, where open and honest communication is the norm.

  • An early-stage startup that's growing fast, with room to take on more if you want it.
