📜 Description

  • Scope and deliver complex, ambiguous projects, from new product launches to rebuilding stalled revenue lines and creating new capabilities.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative evidence to identify problems, make decisions, and defend recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Design and build AI systems and workflows that reduce manual work across content, analysis, operations, and reporting.
  • Create clear company updates, investor materials, and Board packs from complex business information.
  • Lead cross-functional programmes, unblock teams, and take ownership of business units or initiatives through handover or ongoing operation.

🛠️ Requirements

  • Proof you've done something hard. A business you built, a product you launched, a number you moved, a broken thing you fixed. We care about what happened, not what you were responsible for.
  • Real AI fluency. You've built your own tools, agents or workflows, not just used a chatbot. Come ready to show us.
  • Speed with judgement. You've worked somewhere genuinely fast, most likely a high growth startup, strategy consulting or similar and you know the difference between impact and effort.
  • Comfort with numbers and with people. You can build the model, then sit with an underwriter, a regulator or a shareholder and be taken seriously in both rooms.
  • Ownership as an instinct. Nobody will hand you a brief, a template or a team. You'll find the work, prioritise it and finish it.
  • Communication that lands. Clear writing, clear slides, clear thinking, in front of any audience from an engineer to the Board.
  • You work AI-first. You will use AI daily here, and we mean daily. You do not need to arrive an expert, but you do need to arrive curious, experiment fast, and take ownership of getting good quickly. People who wait to be trained will find this uncomfortable.

✨ Benefits

  • 💰 Market-competitive salary, benchmarked against your function and reviewed every year.
  • 🏆 Annual performance bonus, linked to company performance and your contribution.
  • 📈 Share options, a real stake in the company and a share in the future you build
  • 🩺 Private medical insurance.
  • 🏖️ Pension
  • Generous holiday
  • 000 a year to spend on getting to the office or learning something new
  • 💻 Cutting-edge systems and tools, so you always have what you need to drive your impact.
  • Ready to do the most impactful work of your career? We want to hear from you.

Full job description

About Zego 🚀

At Zego, we're on a mission to do the good thing, not the insurance thing.

Insurance hasn't changed much in over a century. The way we live, work and travel has. We're building the real-time, AI-driven infrastructure that powers innovative insurance, so good drivers get cover that works the way they actually drive.

We're not just updating insurance; We're leading the AI evolution in insurance 🤖

For us, AI isn't a line on a roadmap or a buzzword on a slide. It's our operating reality, and it's how we build products that back drivers instead of the old insurance playbook.

We don't do things slowly, and we don't do bureaucracy. We back high-performance builders who want ownership, early responsibility and the chance to do the most career-defining work of their lives. You'll get the space to try things, the tools to move fast, and the room to see your ideas reach millions of drivers.

Do not take our word for it. Read what Zegons say about us on Glassdoor.

If you're ready to build the future of insurance, we're hiring.

About the role

Reports to Zego's Deputy CEO.

This role exists to take on the problems that don't fit anywhere else. No two quarters will look the same. One might be launching a new product line. The next, building the framework and analysis that decides where we invest. Then designing an AI system that replaces a manual process, taking over a business unit and running it, leading a cross functional programme nobody else can unblock, or building the story we take to shareholders, investors and the Board.

It's the fastest way to understand how a leading AI company actually works: tech, product, marketing, operations, finance, regulation. You'll work directly with the people who run each of them.

What you will be doing

  • Whole problems, not work-streams. You take something ambiguous, scope it, build the plan, win the buy-in, deliver it, then either hand it over or run it. Launching a new product. Rebuilding a revenue line that has stalled. Standing up a capability from nothing.

  • Decisions worth making. You'll use quantitative and qualitative evidence to work out what's really going on, then make the call and defend it in front of the leadership team. Analysis that doesn't impact a decision isn't the job.

  • AI that does real work. You'll design and build AI systems and workflows that take work off people's plates, in content, analysis, operations or reporting. We expect you to reach for AI first, and to be the person others copy.

  • The narrative. Company wide updates, investor material, Board packs. You'll turn complicated business reality into something a smart outsider can follow in ten minutes.

What you will need to be successful

The Zego ways of working 🏡

Teams work better with time to collaborate and space to get things done. We call it Zego Hybrid: some of us are in our office (central London or Halifax) weekly, others monthly or quarterly. It's about finding the balance between face time and focus that produces great work and a healthy life around it.

We also make a point of getting everyone in the same room. Teams come together every quarter, and once a year the whole company does, properly. It's a serious investment and consistently one of the best parts of the year.

Here is what the last one looked like.

Benefits 🎁

💰 Market-competitive salary, benchmarked against your function and reviewed every year.

🏆 Annual performance bonus, linked to company performance and your contribution.

📈 Share options, a real stake in the company and a share in the future you build

🩺 Private medical insurance.

🏖️ Pension, generous holiday, and £1,000 a year to spend on getting to the office or learning something new.

💻 Cutting-edge systems and tools, so you always have what you need to drive your impact.

Ready to do the most impactful work of your career? We want to hear from you.

Zego, leading the AI evolution in insurance.

Equal opportunities 🌈

We're an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability status.
