Full job description

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by ๐Ÿ‘‹

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Wellโ€ฆ you might just be in the right place!

We're looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our Retail point-of-sale design team in Montreal. You'll design for products that tens of thousands of merchants rely on every single day to run their stores โ€” where a confusing flow isn't an inconvenience, it's a line of customers at the counter. Design at this scale is a different sport: every improvement lands with enormous reach, and every decision has to earn the trust of people whose livelihood runs through our software.

This is a role for a designer who finds the hard problems more interesting than the shiny ones: simplifying deeply established workflows without breaking what merchants depend on, finding elegant solutions within real technical constraints, and knowing when familiarity is a feature โ€” and when it's holding users back.

Location: Montreal (HQ) preferred, working in-office alongside the team; open to other locations in eastern Canada.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own end-to-end design for core point-of-sale experiences โ€” from problem framing through polished, shipped product โ€” and be accountable for their quality and outcomes.

  • Make complicated flows feel simple: distill dense, high-frequency merchant workflows into clear, fast, confidence-inspiring experiences.

  • Design with real-world constraints as creative fuel โ€” partnering closely with engineering to find solutions that are both excellent and feasible in mature, at-scale systems.

  • Ground decisions in evidence: drive your own research and testing with real merchants, so improvements are built on how people actually work, not assumptions.

  • Think in systems: strengthen consistency across the wider point-of-sale portfolio, contributing patterns and improvements back to our shared design system.

  • Multiply the team: mentor other designers, raise the bar through critique, and bring a point of view that makes the work around you better.

  • Put AI to work in your craft โ€” using modern tools to explore, prototype, and validate faster, and modelling new ways of working for the team.

What you need to bring:

  • 8+ years of product design experience at product-driven tech companies, with measurable impact on shipped products.

  • A portfolio that shows strong fundamentals, polished UI craft, and complex workflows made simple.

  • Experience designing for mature, at-scale products โ€” and the judgment to know when to simplify, when to modernize, and when to leave well enough alone.

  • A track record of partnering with engineering to navigate technical constraints and still ship excellent work.

  • Fluency with prototyping and research methods to validate decisions and shape product direction.

  • Active use of AI tools in your design workflow, and curiosity about how they're changing the craft.

  • Strong communication skills โ€” able to build alignment with cross-functional, global partners.

  • As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.

We know that people are more than what's on their CV. If you're unsure that you have the right profile for the roleโ€ฆ hit the 'Apply' button and give it a try!

Be a changemaker

Youโ€™ll enjoy:

  • A flexible work environment that empowers you to do your best work

  • The chance to make an impact in a team thatโ€™s big enough for career growth, but lean enough to make your voice heard
