Mō tēnei tūranga | About the role

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Lead to join our Cervical Screening team on a 6-month fixed-term full time contract, providing clinical leadership and expert advice that helps ensure safe, accurate, and timely cervical screening services across Aotearoa. Working closely with our Register Central Team, screening providers, laboratories, and other key stakeholders, you'll play an important role in supporting participants through the cervical screening pathway while helping improve health outcomes and equity for Māori, Pacific peoples, and other under-screened populations.

Ngā haepapa matua | Key responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical advice and support to the Register Central Team and external stakeholders.
• Deliver guidance on clinical queries, escalations, and participant pathways in line with NCSP policies and guidelines.
• Support and coach frontline teams through clinical education, mentoring, and real-time advice.
• Complete quality assurance activities, including Register Quality Checks and Failsafe reporting.
• Contribute to the development and review of clinical procedures, policies, and operational documentation.
• Identify, assess, and escalate clinical risks to support safe, compliant service delivery.
• Build strong relationships with primary care providers, laboratories, colposcopy clinics, and national programme stakeholders.

Qualifications

Mōu ake | About you

You're an experienced Registered Nurse with strong clinical judgement, a collaborative approach, and a passion for improving health outcomes. You bring confidence in providing clinical guidance and influencing practice, along with a genuine commitment to culturally safe care, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and achieving equitable outcomes for all communities across Aotearoa.

Ōu wheako ōu mātauranga hoki | Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• New Zealand Registered Nurse with current practising certificate
• At least 5 years' relevant senior nursing experience 
• Experience in cervical screening, women’s health, primary care, population health or a national screening programme in New Zealand
• Demonstrated clinical leadership experience, including the ability to guide colleagues and influence safe clinical practice
• Experience identifying, assessing and escalating clinical risks
• Ability to translate clinical guidelines into clear, practical advice for kaimahi, healthcare providers, service users and whānau
• An understanding of Te Tiriti O Waitangi and a commitment to increasing equity for Māori Tangata Whai Ora
• Whakarongorau Aotearoa acknowledges Mana Māori and mātauranga Māori as a professional skill set
