  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in integrated management systems, quality management systems, auditing, operational excellence, continuous improvement, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Internal Auditor for one or more management system standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) or the ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, including management system implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement.
  • Proven experience planning, leading, conducting, and reporting management system audits in complex organizational environments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives and delivering measurable operational, compliance, quality, environmental, health and safety, or business performance improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of risk-based thinking, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, management review processes, and continual improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret management system requirements and translate them into practical business processes, solutions, and implementation plans.

Job Summary

The Senior IMS Specialist II serves as a senior subject matter expert for the Integrated Management System (IMS), providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure effectiveness, conformity, and continual improvement of management system processes supporting ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. This role is responsible for planning, leading, and enhancing the internal audit program while driving initiatives that strengthen operational performance, support compliance obligations, and advance the organization's quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, and strategic business objectives. The position leads internal audits, evaluates management system effectiveness, identifies risks and improvement opportunities, and collaborates across functions to ensure alignment with international standards, regulatory requirements, and company expectations. The Senior IMS Specialist II plays a key role in the development, implementation, and continual evolution of the DCE 9000 standard and supports organizational readiness for emerging ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standard revisions. Acting as a catalyst for organizational improvement, this role facilitates structured problem-solving activities, leads continual improvement initiatives, and partners with stakeholders at all levels to optimize processes, enhance business performance, and increase customer value. The position also contributes to the development and execution of IMS strategies, roadmaps, and programs that support organizational priorities and long-term business goals. This is an individual contributor role without direct people management responsibilities. However, the Senior IMS Specialist II provides leadership through expertise, influence, and collaboration, leading cross-functional efforts, driving accountability, and delivering results across the organization without formal supervisory authority.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) internal audit program supporting ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on management system requirements, providing guidance and support to business leaders, process owners, and stakeholders.
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee risk-based internal audits, corrective actions, and follow-up activities to ensure management system effectiveness and continual improvement.
  • Support external certification, surveillance, customer, and recertification audits.
  • Support the implementation of the DCE 9000 standard by evaluating, adapting, and enhancing the management system processes, procedures, and controls to ensure alignment with evolving requirements and organizational goals.
  • Lead and support organizational readiness efforts for ISO standard revisions, including gap assessments, implementation planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analyze audit results, performance data, and business trends to identify risks, drive improvements, and support informed decision-making.
  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, structured problem-solving, and other improvement methodologies.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action activities to improve process performance and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain IMS documentation, procedures, metrics, reporting tools, and governance processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to align IMS initiatives with business objectives, operational excellence goals, sustainability commitments, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training, coaching, and awareness programs related to management systems, auditing, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor changes to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices to strengthen IMS performance and organizational readiness.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of IMS strategies that support long-term business objectives.
  • Lead through technical expertise, influence, and collaboration in a highly matrixed environment without direct supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Ability to conduct internal audits at company facilities and other locations as required.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions, in person and virtually.
  • Ability to analyze information, prepare clear reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ability to travel as required to support audits, strategic initiatives, and standards-related activities.
  • Regular and on-time attendance.
  • This is a hybrid position unless otherwise specified requiring 3 days in the office.
