Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Lead the design and deployment of production-grade ML systems powering SailPoint's AI-driven identity security platform.

Description

• Design, implement, and optimize ML models (supervised, unsupervised, and LLM-based) for customer-facing and internal product capabilities.
• Translate AI research and prototypes into scalable, maintainable production systems with robust monitoring and governance.
• Build and enhance ML infrastructure, data pipelines, and feature engineering frameworks for training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Drive technical strategy for model versioning, reproducibility, data lineage, and CI/CD automation across ML systems.
• Set technical direction and best practices for ML engineering, mentoring engineers in scalable design patterns and software craftsmanship.
• Partner with product, platform, and DevOps teams to prioritize high-impact AI capabilities and ensure seamless ecosystem integration.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in machine learning engineering, software development, or related technical field.
• Strong Python programming skills and proficiency with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn).
• Proven track record building and deploying ML models at production scale in cloud-native environments.
• Deep expertise in data modeling, feature engineering, statistical analysis, and data pipelines (Spark, Airflow, dbt).
• Solid knowledge of MLOps practices: model monitoring, retraining, CI/CD, and experiment tracking.
• Strong software engineering foundation: testing, modularization, code review, and observability.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to set technical direction, influence architectural decisions, and guide organizational strategy.
