Full job description
Printfresh is a joyful lifestyle brand beloved for our bold, hand-painted prints and size-inclusive sleepwear and apparel. As we expand into more categories, weβre seeking to bring our whimsical, maximalist world to the spaces our customers cherish most, their homes. From bedding to tabletop, we believe in surrounding everyday rituals with beauty and comfort.
We are hiring a Director of Licensing & Collaborations to run two growing parts of our business: licensing Printfresh prints to other brands and creating collections with other companies' IP (like our bestselling Gilmore Girls capsule).
On the licensing side, you'll work with our agency (Jewel) to find the right partners and manage those deals. On the collaboration side, you'll lead each project from first convo to GTM.
This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule, working in our Philadelphia office Tuesdays through Thursdays and from home on Mondays and Fridays.
Key Responsibilities
Licensing
- Manage the licensing program and serve as the POC for Jewel, our licensing agency
- Work with Jewel to find and vet licensing partners that fit the brand
- Negotiate deal terms, including royalties, guarantees, categories, and territories
- Manage licensees: onboarding, sending assets, and approving product and marketing
- Track royalty reports, payments, and contract dates
- Set the long-term plan for where Printfresh licensing should (and shouldn't) go
Collaborations
- Identify and pitch new collaboration ideas that make sense for our customer and align with the Printfresh brand
- Lead collaborations with outside IP holders from pitch to launch
- Project manage each collaboration: timelines, contracts, approvals, and launch
- Build collaboration calendars with design and merchandising that account for approval and production lead times
- Keep approvals moving, from artwork and samples to packaging and marketing
- Track royalties, minimum guarantees, and reporting owed to licensors
- Report on how licensing and collaborations are performing and use that to plan what's next
- Work closely with the merch, design, and marketing teams to make sure each collaboration feels easy (even though they are not)!
Contracts
- Own contract negotiations for all licensing and collaboration deals, working with leadership and outside legal counsel to make sure details are favorable
- Keep contracts organized and track key dates like renewals, minimums, and exclusivity windows
Requirements
- 7β10 years of experience in licensing, brand partnerships, or collaborations at a consumer brand
- Experience licensing a brand out and bringing outside IP in is a big plus
- Track record of negotiating licensing deals, including royalties, guarantees, & exclusivity
- Experience working with entertainment licensors (studios, publishers) and their approval processes
- Strong project management skills and the ability to run several collaborations at once
- Knowledge of product development and production timelines in apparel
- Clear, confident communicator who builds strong relationships
- Good brand instincts and a sense of which partnerships feel right for Printfresh
- Embraces AI tools to work faster
- Experience at a high-growth brand in the 50-150M range is a plus
