- Four or more years of professional experience, preferably including a Product/DevTool Engineer role.
- Proficiency in crafting pragmatic and performant code where it matters and taking smart shortcuts where appropriate
- Taste in designing public APIs, dev-tools, and User eXperiences
- Data-driven skills to evaluate multiple alternatives and converge on the most promising solution
- Excellent communication in English both in writing and verbally
- The right mix of art & science to deliver projects in an experiment-oriented environment
- Ability to self-direct and work on complex projects
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
- At Knapsack, it’s not unusual for one person to touch Heroku/AWS, Postgres/Redis, Ruby/Rails, JS/TS, and multiple CIs on the same day. So you should have experience in some of those and be willing to pick up the rest.

We expect you to take an active role in developing complex projects, from ideation and scoping to execution and maintenance. Again, if you're seeking having end-to-end influence on what is built, you might have come to the right place!
