Full job description
ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa is a dynamic and fast-growing BPO company based in South Africa, specialising in providing top-tier operational support to U.S.-based companies. We are not a recruitment agency — we act as a dedicated extension of our clients’ teams, delivering high-quality service with precision, efficiency, and a personal touch.
We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join a busy recruitment team supporting a fast-growing US healthcare group. Our client runs behavioural health and healthcare facilities across several US states and is expanding quickly, so there’s always someone to find.
This is a salaried, in-house role with no commission structure. You won’t be closing deals or negotiating offers. Your job is to find great candidates, screen them quickly, and get the right people in front of the hiring managers. The managers do the final interviews and make the hiring decisions.
Who will thrive here:
You’re a go-getter with a sales-style mindset. You don’t give up after a few no-shows; you pick up the phone and keep going. You’re warm and easy to talk to, but you also know that being likeable isn’t enough. A candidate has to meet the requirements before they move forward. You stay organised in a fast-paced environment, and you can adapt when needs change from week to week.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 4:00pm – 1:00am SAST (subject to daylight saving time).
- Public Holidays: You will work on all South African public holidays. Compensated in line with the BCEA.
- Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
- Power Backup: A reliable power backup solution is required to manage load shedding and power outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
- Work Environment: Fully remote (you must be located in South Africa)
Responsibilities:
- Hold weekly calls with facility contacts to confirm hiring needs.
- Source candidates through the ATS and re-engage previous applicants when candidate flow slows.
- Screen candidates by phone, Zoom or Microsoft Teams, maintaining 18–20 interview slots per day (with overbooking to allow for no-shows).
- Keep your interview calendar full for the next 2–3 days.
- Verify that candidates meet role and state licensure requirements before progressing them.
- Book qualified candidates directly into hiring managers’ calendars.
- Use text message templates and scheduling links (Calendly / Microsoft Teams Bookings) to schedule efficiently.
- Guide candidates through step-by-step onboarding and track completion.
- Communicate proactively with facilities and the Director of Recruitment, flagging any drop in candidate flow early.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a phone-based, people-facing role (recruitment, sales, customer service or call centre)
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and calendar management skills.
- Comfortable working with computer systems and learning new ones quickly
- Resilient and self-motivated, with the drive to hit daily targets
Beneficial:
- Recruitment experience, especially high-volume or healthcare recruitment
- Experience with an ATS (Workday or similar)
- Familiarity with US healthcare roles or licensing requirements
- Experience with Calendly, Microsoft Teams or Zoom
If you are not contacted within 14 working days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
