🛠️ Requirements

  • 7+ years of legal experience, with a strong focus on financial services.
  • Previous experience working in a regulated financial institution, preferably an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) or Payment Institution (PI).
  • Strong knowledge of EU financial services legislation, including PSD, MiCA, DORA, AML/CFT, GDPR legislation, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience supporting licensing and authorisation processes for regulated financial institutions would be an advantage.
  • Strong experience in commercial contracts and corporate law, including intra-group legal matters.
  • Master's degree in Law.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Russian.
  • Experience in the crypto-asset industry.

As Head of Legal, you will lead two legal teams of up to eight people and support high-quality legal support across the Group.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Group Legal function, managing the legal team and ensuring consistent, high-quality legal support across the Group.
  • Oversee all legal matters across the Group, providing strategic legal advice to support business objectives and growth.
  • Lead legal aspects of licensing projects, regulatory applications, authorisations, and interactions with competent authorities.
  • Advise the business on the legal aspects of new products, market expansion, cross-border operations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide legal advice on European financial services legislation, including PSD, MiCA, DORA, GDPR, AML/CFT legislation, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and maintain commercial agreements, customer documentation, vendor agreements, and other legal documentation.
  • Lead corporate legal matters, including corporate governance, intra-group transactions, corporate restructurings, and other corporate legal work across the Group.
  • Manage disputes, pre-litigation matters, and litigation, coordinating external legal counsel where appropriate.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their legal impact on the Group's business.
  • Manage relationships with external law firms and other legal advisers.
