Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support and continuously improve a complex enterprise platform for a large customer in the banking sector.

You will work with OpenShift, GitOps, ArgoCD, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation, contributing to platform development while also investigating and resolving complex production issues. The role requires close collaboration with multiple technical teams and customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities
 

Platform Operations & Reliability: Operate, maintain, and continuously improve OpenShift-based platform infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance, and availability.

GitOps & CI/CD Enablement: Manage GitOps deployments through ArgoCD and support the CI/CD ecosystem, including Bitbucket, Nexus, and Harbor.

Advanced Troubleshooting & RCA: Investigate and resolve complex platform, networking, and application issues, performing Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurring incidents.

Automation & Platform Security: Support HashiCorp Vault, container platforms, and infrastructure automation using PowerShell.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with development, infrastructure, security, and database teams to deliver reliable and scalable platform services.

Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with customer stakeholders and internal teams in German and English.

Qualifications

Must have

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Strong experience with OpenShift (or Kubernetes), ArgoCD, and GitOps
• Experience with Bitbucket, HashiCorp Vault, Harbor (or Nexus), and CI/CD pipelines
• Good knowledge of Linux, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls), and PowerShell scripting
• Experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems and performing Root Cause Analysis
• Basic knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Fluent German and English
• Regular use of AI tools to improve productivity, automate or reduce repetitive work, support decision-making, and deliver higher-quality outcomes
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly by structuring effective prompts, critically validating outputs, understanding limitations, and taking ownership of the final result
