Development Manager
Location: Austin, Texas
Compensation: Competitive compensation + benefits

About This Role

The Development Manager is a full-time leadership role responsible for building and growing high-performing engineering teams while leading TogetherWork's transformation to modernize our products. You'll partner closely with product management to define and execute the roadmap, drive the modernization of legacy systems, and raise the bar for quality and delivery across the team. You'll set technical direction and coach engineers.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering growth, performance, and a culture of high-quality delivery
  • Drive the transformation and modernization of legacy applications toward modern technologies and architecture
  • Partner with product management to define and execute the product roadmap
  • Set technical standards and architectural direction, and review code and designs to uphold quality
  • Champion the adoption of AI-native development, including Claude and Cursor, to improve team velocity, quality, and consistency
  • Coordinate and manage execution across onshore and offshore engineering teams
  • Implement and refine best practices in CI/CD and cloud-based development
  • Ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software delivery across multiple codebases

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years in a engineering manager role, with proven experience building and growing strong engineering teams
  • Experience leading teams of 15–20, spanning both software engineers and quality engineers
  • Demonstrated success leading teams with a focus on high quality and leveraging AI tooling (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to boost productivity
