Working on site, the role delivers structured housekeeping training using the training material developed by and specific to the IFMS contract, ensuring cleaning supervisors are confident, competent and consistent in how they lead cleaning operations and coach their own teams.
The role forms part of the national Learning & Development (L&D) team and works in close partnership with the IFMS contract leadership team. It responds to site-level training needs, supports the onboarding of newly appointed cleaning supervisors and provides practical on-the-job coaching that translates contract standards into everyday practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver face-to-face housekeeping training to IFMS Cleaning Supervisors on site using approved IFMS contract training materials.
- Provide practical, on-the-job coaching and side-by-side support to reinforce learning in the live work environment.
- Support the onboarding and induction of newly appointed Cleaning Supervisors across the IFMS contract.
- Assess supervisor competency against IFMS contract standards and provide clear, constructive feedback to support ongoing development.
- Maintain accurate training records in the LMS and track and report on training completion and outcomes.
- Work with site management and IFMS contract leadership to coordinate training visits while minimising disruption to operations.
- Identify emerging training and capability needs through site visits, observation and consultation with operational leaders, escalating these through the L&D team as required.
- Provide feedback on the effectiveness of training materials and recommend practical improvements based on field experience.
- Champion housekeeping standards, correct chemical handling, equipment use and safe work practices through all training and coaching activities.
- Build strong working relationships with site leadership, Cleaning Supervisors, the L&D team and other key stakeholders, sharing field insights to support continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate Sodexo values and ensure employee safety, health and wellbeing remain at the forefront of all training and coaching activities.
This role will see you build collaborative relationships across a range of functions and work closely with Sodexo’s operational leadership team. The goal is for us to ensure that our employees are fully supported and set up to be the best they can be in their roles.
About you
You have hands-on experience in housekeeping, cleaning or soft services operations, ideally within the IFMS contract environment. You understand the day-to-day realities of leading cleaning teams and have experience supporting, coaching or training others in an operational setting.
You bring a strong working knowledge of housekeeping standards, cleaning methodologies, chemical safety and equipment use, and are confident engaging with operational teams through practical, on-site training. You are comfortable providing honest and respectful feedback that supports improvement and builds capability.
