We are looking for an experienced Lawyer to join our Legal Department on a temporary basis for approximately 2 years.

About the Legal Department

The Legal Department provides legal support to the Bank’s management bodies and business functions. Our work includes advising on corporate governance, regulatory implementation, contractual arrangements, dispute management, and other legal matters across the organization. Our team contains lawyers from all Baltic countries. We are working closely with business stakeholders, management bodies and colleagues across SEB bank and aim to deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice.

About the Role

You will be part of Legal Department, particularly within a team working on lending, leasing and trade finance services. This team supports both development of standard financing products, and conclusion of non-standard, complex and large financing transactions.

• Advising internal stakeholders on legal requirements applicable to financing services, and to related customer processes,
• Providing legal support on non-standard, complex or large financing transactions, including structuring, documentation and support in negotiations,
• Advising internal stakeholders on customer requests, and responding to complaints related to financing services,
• Monitoring legal and regulatory developments related to lending, leasing, trade finance and collateral arrangements, assessing their impact on the Bank and supporting their timely implementation,
• Cooperating with Business, Credit, Compliance, Legal, Product and other stakeholders to ensure practical, consistent and business-oriented legal advice in financing matters,
• Representing SEB with the external stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities and Lithuanian Banking Association.

• A Master’s degree in Law,
• At least 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained in a financial institution, law firm, supervisory authority or another regulated environment,
• Ability to translate legal requirements into practical and business-oriented advice,
• Ability to work independently,
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills,
• Professional working proficiency in Lithuanian and English.
