Job Description

Purpose of the Job

As a Junior Developer, you will support the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions using C#, .NET, and Azure technologies. Working alongside experienced developers and project managers, you will gain hands-on experience, develop your technical skills, and contribute to the successful delivery of technology solutions across Ocorian.

You will also build knowledge of Ocorian's core systems, including NavOne, Viewpoint, and iManage, while gaining valuable insight into the financial services industry.

Main Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Development Manager and wider team to support the design, development, and delivery of software solutions.
• Contribute to team discussions and development meetings, sharing ideas and learning from experienced colleagues.
• Continuously build your technical knowledge by learning the codebase, development tools, and best practices.
• Write, maintain, and improve code to support business applications and technology initiatives.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving software bugs and issues.
• Monitor the performance of internal applications and help identify opportunities for improvement.
• Respond to support requests and collaborate with colleagues to deliver effective solutions.
• Create reports and dashboards that provide meaningful insights for business users.
• Conduct testing to ensure applications are reliable, perform as expected, and meet business requirements.
• Take an active role in your professional development, contributing to a collaborative and continuous learning culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 

Knowledge, Skill and experience

• A basic understanding of C# and .NET would be beneficial, with a willingness to continue learning and developing technical skills.
• Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and testing approaches.
• Experience using development tools such as Visual Studio, Git, and Azure DevOps is an advantage.
• An interest in cloud technologies, with exposure to Azure services considered beneficial.
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL and relational databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to learning and overcoming challenges.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• A team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to share knowledge, learn from others, and contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment.
