Reporting to the General Counsel, you will manage commercial contracts from initial requests and negotiations through signature and post-signature obligations. You will work closely with partnerships, Finance, Revenue Operations, and other business teams to facilitate agreements while managing legal risk. Beyond contract negotiation, you will build efficient legal processes, develop standardized templates, and implement AI-powered workflows to streamline routine work. This is an opportunity to combine legal expertise, operational ownership, and emerging technology in a dynamic, international environment. You will have significant autonomy to improve how legal support is delivered and help the business grow sustainably.
Accountabilities:
You will own the commercial contract lifecycle and develop the systems, processes, and resources needed to support business growth while ensuring agreements and obligations are managed effectively.
- Manage incoming requests from partnership teams, including prioritization, intake, and triage.
- Draft and negotiate non-disclosure agreements using both internal and counterparty templates.
- Prepare and negotiate standard partnership, integration, licensing, and incentive agreements, including signature packages and signing summaries.
- Maintain a centralized contract repository integrated with the CRM and ensure all executed agreements are accurately recorded.
- Build and maintain an obligations register covering milestones, grant payments, exclusivity periods, notice deadlines, renewals, and other contractual commitments.
- Set up automated alerts for deal owners and Finance, providing clear visibility into the conditions and obligations of signed agreements.
- Develop legal operations infrastructure, including negotiation playbooks, clause libraries, standardized templates, and a legal FAQ for recurring partner questions.
- Design and implement AI-powered workflows and agents for contract intake, drafting, and review, while identifying matters requiring qualified legal oversight.
- Track outside counsel budgets and prepare monthly reports on legal workload, contract volume, turnaround times, and deviations from standard terms.
- Coordinate vendor and compliance operations, including standard vendor and SaaS agreements, renewals, insurance schedules, due diligence, security questionnaires, internal policies, and data room organization.
- As needed, support corporate administration for legal entities and coordinate with external counsel on employment, intellectual property, and privacy matters.
- Collaborate daily with Partnerships, Finance, Revenue Operations, Business Operations, and external legal advisers.
- Establish clear, measurable improvements in contract turnaround times, process efficiency, and legal operations maturity.
- A law degree or equivalent legal training, with qualification as a lawyer or comparable legal credentials.
- Five to eight years of experience in commercial contracting, including in-house experience at a fast-growing technology company.
- Demonstrated ability to independently negotiate partnership, integration, and licensing agreements using both internal and counterparty paper.
- Strong knowledge of US-style commercial drafting and contract negotiation.
- Practical experience building legal operations capabilities, including contract lifecycle management tools, intake processes, negotiation playbooks, and reporting systems.
- Experience using AI tools to create prompts, develop reusable skills, and automate document workflows, with a clear understanding of when lawyer review remains necessary.
- Ability to work effectively with Finance on payment structures, contractual milestones, budgets, and related commercial matters.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and the ability to maintain accurate contract and deal information as a reliable source of truth.
- Strong judgment and confidence in defending legal positions while working under commercial time pressure.
- Clear, concise communication skills, particularly when explaining legal matters to non-legal stakeholders.
- High levels of ownership, autonomy, and initiative, with the ability to build processes and solve problems without extensive supervision.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, changing priorities, and the pace of a growing organization.
- Ability to collaborate across European and US Eastern time zones.
- A collaborative, team-first mindset, with humility and a willingness to work across functions.
