- Provide market intelligence on bolt on targets, competitive landscape, and valuation context within your subsector
- Make introductions to founders, family owners, and senior executives in your existing network
- Review confidential information memoranda and management presentations for sector specific operating fit and risk
- Participate in PE sponsor pitches when your subsector and operating background are relevant
- Provide operational due diligence input on target companies
- Advise the Fireclay team on positioning and messaging for sponsor outreach and sourcing campaigns
🛠️ Requirements
- Senior operator (VP, President, GM, COO, CEO) at an ag inputs manufacturer, regional dealer network, ag services platform, agribusiness, or PE backed ag platform
- Fifteen years or more in ag operations with direct grower or producer facing experience
- Familiarity with seasonality, working capital dynamics, and cooperative versus independent channel structures
- Existing network of relationships with founders, family owners, senior executives, and PE professionals across your subsector
- Comfort representing Fireclay professionally to PE sponsors and target company management
- Discretion when handling non public information and competitive intelligence
- Willingness to work on a flexible per engagement basis without fixed hours or commitments

Operating Partner, Agriculture
Fireclay Partners is building a technology-native investment bank. Operating Partners extend our sector expertise and help transaction teams understand the operating realities, relationships, and strategic questions that matter in agriculture.
What You Will Do
- Bring credible senior operating experience and sector judgment to selected client and transaction situations.
- Help bankers interpret industry dynamics, business models, operating risks, and strategic priorities.
- Contribute structured expertise, observations, and reusable insight through Fireclay's proprietary technology platform, Forge.
- Collaborate with deal teams on research, diligence, positioning, and relevant market relationships.
- Engage selectively and professionally while protecting client confidentiality and avoiding conflicts.
