🛠️ Requirements

  • At least 4 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role with significant business-partnering responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of US federal, state and local employment law, with the judgement to identify risk and seek specialist advice when appropriate.
  • Experience managing employee relations and advising managers on performance and sensitive people matters.
  • Strong stakeholder-management, coaching and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and balancing strategic priorities with hands-on operational delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence using HRIS and people data.
  • Discreet, proactive and highly organised, with the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Authorised to work in the United States.

Efficio is looking for a commercially minded and hands-on HR Business Partner to support our growing US business. This is an opportunity to become a trusted adviser to senior leaders, managers and employees, and to turn business priorities into practical, people-focused solutions.

You will combine strategic business partnering with hands-on delivery across employee relations, performance, organisational change, employment-law compliance and employee experience. The role is based in either New York or Chicago. New York-based colleagues are expected in the New York office three days per week. Chicago-based colleagues will travel to the New York office for one week each month.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted relationships with US leaders, managers and employees, acting as their first point of contact for people matters.

  • Translate business plans, workforce needs and organisational risks into clear, practical people plans.

  • Coach managers through team dynamics, feedback, employee development and sensitive conversations.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage employee relations matters with sound judgement, appropriate documentation, confidentiality and consistency.

  • Provide practical guidance on applicable US federal, state and local employment law, company policy and HR best practice; engage Legal or external counsel where needed.

  • Support managers on performance, conduct, probation, grievance, leave and reasonable-accommodation matters.

People Programmes & Employee Experience

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Finance and the global People team on workforce planning, talent, reward and organisational change initiatives.

  • Use people data and employee feedback to identify trends, mitigate risks and improve the employee experience.

  • Contribute to scalable policies, processes, manager guidance and local engagement initiatives across the US business.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
