Video Editor Competition (paid, freelance)

We are remaking the hero video on agency.dropzerodigital.com and we are doing it as a paid competition.

How it works. 1. You apply with your portfolio, proof that the work is yours, and a short Loom. 2. We review every portfolio ourselves and shortlist about 7 editors. 3. Each shortlisted editor is paid 75 USD for a 15 second test, whether or not they win. 4. One winner makes the full 1 minute video and is paid 700 USD. 5. The full video includes 2 rounds of revisions.

What you will make. The hero video for our agency site. Reference: our current reel https://dropzerodigital.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/240217_SIZZLE-REEL_DROP-ZERO-DIGITAL-2024-MP4-1.mp4 . Shortlisted editors get the brief and assets for the test.

What this is. Freelance, paid project work. It is not employment.

Fees. 75 USD per test (shortlisted editors only). 700 USD for the full video (winner only).

Requirements

1. Based in Indonesia, or within 5 hours of Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7).
2. A pure video editor: editing is your main craft, not a side skill next to design or content.
3. A portfolio of paid, published edits.
4. Proof of authorship: a 20 to 30 second screen recording of your editing timeline for at least 2 portfolio projects.
5. A compliance Loom, up to 3 minutes, in English: rate our current hero video on agency.dropzerodigital.com out of 10 and say what you would change. Say your full name and the country you live in at the start.
6. Fluent written and spoken English.
7. Only complete applications are reviewed.

Benefits

75 USD for the 15 second test, paid to every shortlisted editor whether or not they win. 700 USD for the full 1 minute video, paid to the winner, with 2 rounds of revisions. Paid for project delivery. This is freelance work, not employment.
