Full job description
Position : Senior Para-Broker
Salary : PHP 95,000β106,000 | Depending on experience
Working Hours & Conditions: Australian Business Hours
Holidays : TBD
ABOUT THE COMPANY:
A leading Australian finance brokerage helps individuals, families, investors, and business owners make confident financial decisions. The business takes a highly personalized, client-centric approach to finance. Rather than simply arranging a loan, the firm works closely with clients to understand both their immediate requirements and longer-term financial goals.
The team supports clients across a broad range of lending needs, including:
- First home buyers and refinancing
- Property investment, renovation, and construction lending
- Self-employed and business finance
- Car and asset finance
At the heart of the business is a commitment to being trustworthy, efficient, innovative, and candid, while making what can often be a complicated lending process feel straightforward for the client. As the firm continues to grow, it is looking for an experienced Senior Para-Broker who can become a trusted operational partner and take genuine ownership of the lending process.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
This is not simply a loan-processing position.
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Para-Broker with at least 5 years of Australian mortgage broking experience who can confidently manage complex lending scenarios and take ownership of files from initial enquiry through to formal approval and settlement support.
You will work closely with the Director and become a trusted second-in-command across the lending function.
You will analyse scenarios, research lender policy, structure appropriate lending solutions, communicate directly with Australian clients and lenders, and proactively identify and resolve issues before they become problems.
Because the client works across both personal and business finance, the role offers exposure to a diverse range of borrowers and lending scenarios.
As the business grows, there will also be an opportunity to help improve systems, processes and workflows and potentially support and mentor future offshore team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
End-to-End Loan Ownership
- Manage mortgage applications from initial enquiry and discovery through to formal approval and settlement support.
- Take ownership of files rather than waiting for the Director to drive each stage.
- Review client circumstances, supporting documentation and borrowing requirements.
- Prepare and structure lending applications accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain comprehensive file notes and ensure files remain compliant and up to date.
- Proactively follow up outstanding documentation, lender requirements and application milestones.
- Ensure clients receive clear and consistent communication throughout their lending journey.
Credit Analysis & Lending Strategy
- Analyse lending scenarios and recommend practical solutions.
- Research lender policy and determine appropriate lending strategies.
- Work confidently across more complex borrower profiles.
- Identify potential servicing, policy or documentation issues early.
- Prepare applications so they are positioned strongly for lender assessment.
- Exercise sound judgement and know when a scenario requires escalation to the Director.
Lending Experience
The successful candidate should be confident working across areas including:
- Residential home lending
- Refinancing
- Property investment
- Construction and renovation lending
- Self-employed borrowers
- Guarantor lending
- Complex residential scenarios
- Business lending exposure would be highly regarded
- Asset and equipment finance exposure would also be advantageous
Client & Lender Communication
- Communicate confidently and professionally with Australian clients.
- Explain lending requirements and next steps in clear, easy-to-understand language.
- Liaise directly with lenders, BDMs and credit assessors.
- Follow up applications and proactively resolve lender queries.
- Build strong relationships with clients and provide a high standard of service throughout the process.
- Help create the seamless, long-term client experience that the client is known for.
Business & Operational Support
- Work closely with the Director as a trusted operational partner.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, templates and processes.
- Help create scalable systems as lending volumes increase.
- Maintain strong organisation across multiple active applications and priorities.
- Proactively identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
- Support the continued development of a high-performing offshore operations function.
Requirements
We are specifically looking for a senior-level Australian mortgage broking professional.
You must have:
- Minimum 5 years' Australian mortgage broking experience, ideally as a Senior Para-Broker, Senior Credit Analyst or highly experienced Loan Processor.
- Strong understanding of the complete Australian mortgage process from client discovery through to settlement.
- Demonstrated experience managing files with minimal supervision.
- Strong credit analysis and lender policy knowledge.
- Experience with complex residential lending scenarios.
- Strong experience with construction lending, self-employed borrowers and investment lending.
- Confidence dealing directly with Australian clients, lenders, BDMs and credit assessors.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Strong attention to detail and compliance.
- The ability to manage multiple active applications without losing sight of deadlines or client communication.
Experience with Australian mortgage broking platforms such as Broker Engine, Mercury and FLEX will be highly regarded.
