We're hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join the Payments team within the Platform organization. The Payments team builds and operates the infrastructure, workflows, and APIs that power fiat on- and off-ramps for individual and institutional customers, processing billions of dollars in transaction volume across a growing set of global markets. You'll own the architecture and technical direction of these systems, ensuring every payment is reliable, scalable, and correct as Coinbase expands into new regions and payment methods.

Own the architecture and evolution of high-scale systems moving crypto and fiat funds, leading cross-team initiatives to improve reliability, scalability, and financial integrity for millions of customers.
Set technical direction and build secure, scalable AI Gateway infrastructure, including model and tool routing, policy enforcement, credential management, and observability for production agent applications.
Architect and build real-time distributed backend systems for a command-and-control platform, coordinating heterogeneous aircraft and processing high-throughput telemetry even when communications are intermittent.
Lead projects on the Fraud Decisioning team by building tools and systems to enhance fraud-fighting capabilities while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Lead development of Teleport’s backend performance and scalability work, building reliable distributed systems in Go and partnering with customers and engineering teams to diagnose and resolve issues.
