SUMMARY
The Senior Corporate Accountant will provide accurate and timely general accounting across a range of disciplines to all sections of the business. The Senior Corporate Accountant will own processes from estimated accruals, recording expenses and analyzing reporting trends. The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to think analytically. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own accounting and reporting activities related to prepaid expenses, goodwill, intangible assets, and accruals including preparing journal entries, preparing balance sheet account reconciliations, analyzing trends, providing monthly and quarterly financial reporting, and supporting budgeting/forecasting processes.
- Assist with review and analysis related to accounts payable; including credit card and invoice processing and review as needed.
- Communicate timely and effectively with cross-functional department managers to resolve questions and concerns regarding payments and reconciliation to budgets and forecasts.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.
- Perform in-depth analytical review of department expenses including trend and budget vs actual analyses and provide variance explanations at both a subsidiary and consolidated level.
- Own assigned month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances, ensure compliance with intercompany accounting policies, and support the monthly close and consolidation processes across global entities.
- Execute and maintain internal controls over financial reporting, prepare supporting documentation, and partner with internal and external auditors to support testing and remediation activities.
- Maintain accounting process documentation, policies, and procedures to support operational consistency, audit readiness, and knowledge transfer across the accounting function.
- Develop and automate special reports and ad-hoc analyses.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field.
- Demonstrated understanding of US GAAP including deep understanding of process flows between subledgers and the general ledgers.
- 5+ years accounting experience required; experience managing month-end close activities, preparing journal entries, and preparing account reconciliations in a multinational, multi-currency environment, preferred.
- CPA, preferred.
- 2+ years public accounting experience, preferred.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, attention to detail, and documentation skills.
- Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, effectively prioritize competing demands, and maintain focus in rapidly changing situations while meeting deadlines.
- Experience with NetSuite and AI efficiency tools, preferred.
- Ability to execute work accurately with a high-level of integrity.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.
