- Develop an organization-wide cryptographic strategy aligned with current and emerging risks.
- Define cryptography policies, guidelines, and standards across teams and domains.

- Review cryptographic implementations and translate ISO, NIST, and ETSI frameworks into actionable practices.
- Serve as a cryptography subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and external partners.
🛠️ Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in information security or cryptography-relateddomains.
- Proven knowledge of cryptographic protocols, algorithms, and key management systems
- Experience developing and implementing cryptographic policies, governance models, and life cycle frameworks
- Solid understanding of strategic risk management, including compliance with standards like ISO 27001, NIST, or ETSI
- Awareness of post-quantum cryptography trends and transition challenges
- Strong communication skills — able to advise both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience conducting assessments or audits of cryptographic implementations
- Certifications (preferred): CISSP, CISM, CRISC, GIAC Cryptographic Technology (GCT), GIAC CertifiedCryptographer (GCC), ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer or Auditor
- Language skills: Proficiency in English at B2 level or higher, both spoken and written

Are you a security specialist with deep cryptographic expertise and a strategic mindset? For one of our valued clients in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Cryptography Security Specialist to join a newly formed team focused on defining and overseeing the organization's cryptographic strategy, with a clear roadmap toward post-quantum readiness.
In this role, you will help shape cryptographic policies and risk frameworks across the enterprise. You won’t be implementing algorithms yourself, instead, you’ll assess, advise, and validate cryptographic choices and act as a sparring partner for technical teams, security leadership, and business stakeholders.
