About Bolter
Bolter is an AI agent platform built to help people get real work done, without needing to stitch together multiple tools or spend weeks setting things up.
You describe what you need in plain language and Bolter creates and runs agents that can carry out the work end to end. They retain context, remember how you work and can also create real, shareable apps such as trackers and dashboards.
Bolter is funded and currently at the validation-sprint stage, working with a small group of high-impact operators. The product already exists. We are now looking for a founding designer to lead a significant redesign and establish the design foundations for what comes next.
About the role
As Bolter's Founders Associate, you will cover a huge range of urgent and important work - strategy, partnerships, fundraising, hiring, operations, and the day-to-day decisions that keep a young company moving. The founder associate is the person who absorbs that breadth so the GM can focus on the highest-impact projects.
This is not a purely admin role, and it is not a change-management role. It is a generalist operator role: you take ownership of real workstreams end to end, figure out what needs to happen, and make it happen - often with no playbook and no one to hand it to.
You'll work directly with the GM in a lean team, with specialised AI agents supporting execution across the business.
What you’ll do
Own workstreams end to end. From strategy and analysis to execution - you take things off the GM's plate and drive them to completion.
Support fundraising and investor relations. Prepare materials, coordinate diligence, and keep the process moving.
Support partnerships and GTM. Research, reach out, and manage relationships with the operators and partners Bolter works with.
Help build the team. Support hiring - from drafting role specs to coordinating the pipeline.
Bring structure to a fast-moving company. Build the processes, trackers and systems that let a small team move fast without dropping things.
Do the unglamorous work that matters. The role spans whatever the company needs - analysis, coordination, follow-ups, decisions that need a clear owner.
Why you're made for this
A track record of operating with real ownership - ideally in a startup, venture builder, consulting, or investment environment.
Strong analytical and written communication skills. You write clearly and think in first principles.
Comfort with ambiguity. You're given a problem, not a brief, and you figure out the rest.
High agency and follow-through. You close loops and don't wait to be told twice.
Genuine interest in AI, venture building, and what it takes to build a company from the validation stage.
You're organised and reliable - people can count on you to pick things up and carry them through.
You're comfortable working directly with senior people and external partners.
You can leverage AI agents as a force multiplier - we run lean, with a small human core augmented by a fleet of specialised agents.
You're pragmatic. You know when to be thorough and when good enough is good enough to keep moving.
Experience in venture building, early-stage startups, or founder's office roles.
Experience supporting fundraising, partnerships, or GTM at an early stage.
Experience with AI products or working in a fast-moving technical environment.
A bias toward building - trackers, dashboards, tools - rather than just managing.
While we think the above experience could be important, we're keen to hear from people who believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply!
