🛠️ Requirements
- Core Quality Experience: 2–5 years of Quality/Test Engineering experience within an agile software delivery team, ideally in SaaS, fintech, or regulated financial services.
- Automation Framework Contribution: Proven ability to write, maintain, and extend automated UI and API test suites within established automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, REST Assured, or similar modern tools).
- API & Database Proficiency: Strong technical ability validating REST APIs (via Postman, code, or tools) and inspecting backend data structures using SQL queries, XML, and JSON.
- CI/CD & Source Control: Practical working knowledge of Git, branching strategies, and running automated test suites within continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Shift-Left & BDD Mindset: Strong analytical mindset with experience engaging early in sprint refinement to review user stories, help write BDD scenarios, and establish clear acceptance criteria.
- Test Automation & Scripting: Write, update, and maintain reliable UI and API automated tests within existing frameworks, helping squad feature work move from manual checks to repeatable automated coverage.
- Exploratory & Logic Interrogation: Perform structured manual exploratory testing to interrogate complex mortgage business logic, edge cases, system inputs/outputs, and end-to-end data integrity.
- CI/CD Integration & Pipeline Health: Identify regression and smoke test candidates for automation, execute suites through CI/CD delivery pipelines, and report on test health and coverage.
- API & Microservice Validation: Conduct functional and integration testing across cloud-hosted microservices and calculation engines using JSON, XML formats, and SQL queries.
- Shift-Left Collaboration: Partner closely with Business Systems Analysts and Engineers during sprint planning to refine technical requirements, build BDD scenarios, and ensure complete acceptance criteria coverage.

About the Role:
As a Quality Engineer within Finova’s engineering organization, you will play a key role in strengthening squad-level quality practices and helping drive our transition toward higher automated test coverage. Reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager, you will sit as the dedicated quality specialist within an agile software delivery squad alongside Product Managers, Business Systems Analysts, and Software Engineers.
Your core objective is to execute thorough manual exploratory testing across complex mortgage processing logic while actively writing, extending, and maintaining UI and API automation test suites within established frameworks. You will integrate these tests into modern CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality as our cloud microservices evolve.
About you:
