Company Description

Job Description

Ready to launch a commercial career that helps shape the future of renewable energy? At EDF power solutions, you'll gain hands-on experience across key business areas, work on projects with real impact, and help support the growth of wind, solar and battery storage across the UK.

The Opportunity

As a Commercial Graduate, you'll earn a salary of £35,000 per annum and begin your career at EDF power solutions in early September 2027. You'll develop commercial, analytical and strategic skills while building a strong foundation for a long-term career in the renewable energy sector.

Over this 24-month programme, you'll rotate across a range of commercial functions, gaining exposure to project development, investment decisions, market analysis and business strategy. You'll contribute to meaningful work that supports renewable energy projects while helping us deliver An Electric UK and Ireland.

What You’ll Experience

As a Commercial Graduate at EDF power solutions, you'll spend time across the business developing your understanding of the renewable energy industry while supporting the delivery of commercial, strategic and analytical advice to internal stakeholders.

You'll complete three or four placements across key business areas, including Strategy, Markets and Investments. Here, you'll explore how market trends, policy developments and investment decisions shape the future of renewable energy projects, while gaining experience in project origination, valuation and portfolio development.

You'll also work with Business Unit Development Teams, supporting projects from initial concept through development, financial close and construction. You'll gain valuable insight into how major wind, solar and battery projects are brought to life and develop practical commercial skills that will support your future career.

Location

You'll be based at one of our key sites in #Edinburgh, #London or #Durham. Throughout the programme, you'll work with colleagues across a variety of commercial disciplines and renewable energy projects.

To get the most from the programme, you'll work on-site at least three days per week. You'll therefore need to live, or be willing to relocate, within a reasonable commuting distance of your chosen base location.

Why EDF power solutions?

We’re united by a shared ambition: to tackle climate change, shaping An Electric UK and Ireland. Our diverse team is growing fast, driven by innovation and a commitment to clean, green energy for all.

With technologies spanning onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage and green hydrogen, we’re the UK and Ireland’s most diverse renewable generator. By 2035, we aim to deliver 10GW of low-carbon energy – and we’d love you to help us get there.

Where This Programme Could Take You

Pete completed EDF power solutions' graduate programme, where he experienced a variety of placements across the business and developed a broad understanding of the renewable energy industry. The programme gave him exposure to different teams, meaningful responsibilities and the opportunity to shape his own career journey.

Through working alongside experienced colleagues, Pete gained valuable commercial knowledge, developed new skills and built the confidence to progress his career within the business. The breadth of experience available through the programme helped create strong foundations for future opportunities.

"The EDF power solutions graduate scheme provided a great entry point to the renewables industry. Through the rotations, you get to experience a range of roles while having the flexibility to shape your own journey. I really enjoyed my time on the programme. You're given real responsibility and the opportunity to make a difference both within the company and across the wider industry."

Who You Are

To be eligible for this EDF power solutions graduate programme, you need to have achieved, or be expecting to achieve, a bachelor's or postgraduate degree in a numerical discipline. You'll enjoy working with data and using insight to understand market trends, evaluate performance and support commercial decision-making.

Please note that an Assessment Centre stage of the hiring process will take place online, on 3rd December 2026. Applicants must be able to attend on this date to be considered for the programme.
