This role is based in Sydney, and we’re looking for someone who calls it home. What you'd be doing in this role
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA — and we like to think that’s all part of the fun. This will give you the flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
In this position, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how our Strategy team partners with leaders across the business to solve complex, high-visibility problems. We need someone who can demonstrate strong analytical thinking, stakeholder partnership, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities.
You won’t just be responding to data requests; you’ll be driving proactive problem-solving. This role is for someone who can bring clarity to ambiguous business questions, model revenue and impact, and enable data-driven decision-making across Canva’s biggest initiatives.

You're probably a match if
You have Advanced SQL Competency: Expert-level skills in SQL, with experience in data warehousing solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
You’re skilled in data storytelling and stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences.
You have worked in a tech company before and are familiar with the way a tech company operates and some of the concepts particular to our industry (e.g. growth accounting, product funnels, designing analytic events, etc.)
You have experience with R or Python, and have dealt with large datasets before.
You have Subscription Data Expertise preferably: Familiarity with subscription-based business models and product led growth models.
Hands-on experience with integrating AI solutions into data analytics workflows is a strong plus.
You’re excited by solving business problems with data from impact sizing and opportunity modelling to enabling leadership decisions.

The ‘Foundational Goals Strategy’ partners across Canva to tackle some of the most complex and high-impact challenges facing the business. We work on forward-looking initiatives that span multiple groups, from growth and revenue to product, marketing, and finance.
As a team, we focus on bringing clarity to ambiguity by sizing opportunities, evaluating trade-offs, and modelling impact so Canva can make bold, informed decisions. Because our work touches many parts of the business, projects are often highly visible and directly influence company-wide goals.
In this role, you’ll contribute to initiatives that guide Canva’s long-term direction from evaluating new growth opportunities to shaping company targets and from shifting existing strategies to identifying strategy gaps worth addressing. You’ll combine deep data expertise with strategic thinking to help leadership make confident, data-driven decisions.
